About Shaky Daves Harmonica Workshop for Intermediates
This is a intermediate workshop on the basics of harmonica playing both solo and with other musicians. We will be concentrating on breathing techniques, how to play "single notes", rhythm, soloing and playing "behind" the band. We'll be getting into some more complex rhythms this time around, work on bending notes and some fun strange sounds.
Originally brought up in the Boston blues scene in the early '90s, Shaky Dave moved to northern New England where he began playing bluegrass and folk. Moving to NYC 15 years ago, he has become a fixture in the Americana and singer songwriter scene. He plays with the Americana "super group", The M Shanghai String Band, and as a side man to countless other local and touring bands.
Please bring a standard 10 hole key of C harmonica.
