About 4th St. NiteOwls
The 4th St. NiteOwls are a red-hot "washboard-swing" combo performing an extensive repertoire from the 1930s early swing era. Their distinctive approach brings new life to the classic songs of musical legends such as Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Mildred Bailey and Hoagy Carmichael.
Biography
Formed in 1999 with Carl Baggaley on piano, Jerry Fabris on upright bass, Megan Burleyson on washboard by Dale Burleyson on guitar. They practiced vigorously for a year and recorded their first album self titled 4th St. NiteOwls in 2000. Over the years the band has been fortunate enough to include special guests & soloists Kurt Hoffman, JP Bowersock, Meg Reichardt, Karl Meyer & Matt Mussleman. The band has also included Gil Schuster on washtub bass, Dave Dorbin on bull fiddle/tuba & Ian McLaughlin on upright bass. Current soloists feature clarinet & lap steel.
