“He's got rhythm. And for someone his age, plenty of soul, too.” –Jesse Hamlin, San Francisco Chronicle
“Ingenious” –Doug Ramsey, Riff Tides
Sam Reider is an award-winning pianist, accordionist, singer, and songwriter. Sam's band "The Tres Amigos" has appeared with Tony Rice, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and Jim Lauderdale, and was recently named one of New York's top 101 summer attractions by Time Out NYC. Sam's music comes right out of jazz, country, and blues—melodies and lyrics in the tradition of the great singer/songwriters accompanied by a virtuosic and fresh pianistic style. James Booker, Nina Simone, Woody Guthrie, Dr. John, John Prine, Bob Dylan and The Band are some of his inspirations. He has toured extensively with a variety of groups, recorded several CDs, and has been featured in various national publications. In 2007, when he was only 19-years-old, he was interviewed on Marian McPartland's radio show Piano Jazz on National Public Radio. Sam performs regularly in New York City at places such as The Blue Note, Le Poisson Rouge, The Falcon, and The Jalopy Theatre.
Join Sam and some of his amigos for an evening of old-time blues love rock-and-roll spicy-piano-magic. Special guests include NYC pop-rock sensation The Bailen Brothers and banjo virtuoso Bennett Sullivan. More guests TBA!
