About Lap Style Bluegrass Dobro Workshop

Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Todd Livingston now lives and plays music professionally in NYC. He has specialized in bluegrass dobro since 1998 and after becoming the 2001 Rockygrass Dobro Champion, Todd co-founded the Colorado-based Hit & Run Bluegrass band. After winning first place at the 2002 Rockygrass Band Contest, the 2003 Telluride Band Contest, and the 2005 SPBGMA International Band Championships, Todd had the honour of headlining the 2007 Dobrofest in Slovakia with the Todd Livingston Band. In 2007, Todd has worked with Earl Scruggs, Jim Lauderdale, Cowboy Troy of Big & Rich fame, and producer Randy Kohrs, for whom he recorded a track for the "Scheerhorn Sampler" CD. Rayco guitars currently endorse Todd.

The slide workshop will cover lap style bluegrass dobro. All levels welcome. From basic to advanced. Topics to include, technique, exercises, tunes, warming up, listening skills and set up. We will work from traditional styles of Josh Graves to progressive stylings such as Jerry Douglas and Rob Ickes.
